Hymn Factory 2

GUIDE ME is an “extreme makeover” for the Christian hymns. “Treasured Hymn Verses in Melodious Pop Songs”, this new genre reinvents the old hymns for the 21st century musical tastes. One hears the Beatles with jazz instrumentation sung in a voice akin to Coldplay.

“Music by Hymn Factory has the sound of a great classic. Am I listening to century old hymns, or the latest in cutting edge christian music? Every song is strikingly beautiful. From heart warming harmonies to soul moving melodies, Patty's music is
fresh, accessible and alive! As a world-traveled and conservatory-trained musician, exposed to all styles of 'rhythm and sound', I believe Ms.Chung is beginning a new genre of christian music, that finally updates traditional hymns for the 21st century.
And it is distinctively different from the 'contemporary christian' music on the market!”

Hymn Factory is a music label and music brand that takes risks. Instead of going with the crowd, it breaks free from the status quo, creating exciting new music of a whole new genre. That’s right. Hymn Factory offers what no one has--Christian music that bridges the chasm between traditional hymns and contemporary Christian music, at once synthesizing tradition with innovation, by melding the compelling lyrics of the old hymns we love with sparkling new 21st century compositions and sounds we have long craved.

“Modern audience is hungry for songs that are melodious, full of color and fresh. Like me, they want great lyrics that nourish the soul and renew the spirit partnered with aesthetically intellligent music”, says Patty Chung , the founder and composer of Hymn Factory. Rising above the roar of the marketplace of thin unintelligible lyrics and worldly hype of the contemporary Christian music, Hymn Factory boldly proclaims the undiluted Gospel communicated through music that will last.

GUIDE ME, Hymn Factory’s first pop album is a collection of melodic pop songs. The album showcases the fresh voice of the newcomer Tim Walker whose vocal quality draws easy comparisons to Chris Martin of Coldplay. Boasting catchy hummable melodies that smack of The Beatles, sacred ballad, moody jazz, country and even upbeat folk rock, the album harkens back the lost art of great songwriting.

Reviewing SUN OF MY SOUL, Hymn Factory’s debut album of modern classical songs, Joseph Dermody of Greenwich writes, “ I hear Schubert, Brahms, Faure, Gershwin........Patty Chung’s music is fresh, accessible and alive!”

Under the Hymn Factory music brand, the style of music, musicians and singers can vary from album to album. What will remains consistent is the excellence of music, the beauty of the poetry, the sound of grace and hope. Trailblazing a new creative direction in Christian music, Hymn Factory aspires to become a trusted name that stands for creative excellence.

Hymn Factory is the brainchild of Patty Chung, the founder and composer of the music label. Educated in the liberal arts at Cornell, with a career history in trading located in World Trade Center, Patty Chung's life has taken a sharp turn shortly after 9/11. She now composes and produces christian hymns full time. She describes herself as "a sail caught in His wind.".

Holy Ghost

Written By: Andrew Reed (1787-1862)

Holy Ghost, With Light Divine

Holy Ghost, with light divine,
Shine upon this heart of mine;
Chase the shades of night away;
Turn the darkness into day.

Holy Ghost, with power divine,
Cleanse this guilty heart of mine;
Long has sin, without control,
Held dominion over my soul.

Holy Ghost, with joy divine,
Cheer this saddened heart of mine;
Bid my many woes depart,
Heal my wounded bleeding heart.

Holy Spirit, all divine,
Dwell within this heart of mine;
Cast down every idle throne,
Reign supreme, and reign alone.

Had I The Tongues

Written By: Isaac Watts (1674-1748)

Had I the Tongues of Greeks and Jews

Had I the tongues of Greeks and Jews,
And nobler speech than angels use,
If love be absent, I am found,
Like tinkling brass, and empty sound.

Were I inspired to preach and tell
All that is done in heaven and hell,
Or could my faith the world remove,
Still I am nothing without love.

Should I distribute all my store
To feed the hungry, clothe the poor;
Or give my body to the flame,
To gain a martyr’s glorious name,

If love to God and love to men
Be absent, all my hopes are vain;
Nor tongues nor gifts nor fiery zeal
The work of love can ever fulfill.

Upward I Lift My Eyes

Written By: Isaac Watts (1674-1748)

Upward I Lift My Eyes

Upward I lift my eyes;
From God is all my aid;
The God who built the skies,
And earth and nature made:
God is the tower to which I fly;
His grace is nigh in every hour,

My feet shall never slide,
And fall in fatal snares,
Since God, my guard and guide,
Defends me from my fears:
Those wakeful eyes that never sleep
Shall Israel keep when dangers rise.

Hast Thou not given Thy word
To save my soul from death?
And I can trust Thee, Lord,
To keep my mortal breath;
I’ll go and come nor fear to die,
Till from on high Thou call me home.
