Hype

Hype came from a Jamaican / Bajan background, and was born and raised in the Jane Street area of Toronto, Ontario, Canada for 20 plus years. He first got involved in music from singing as a back-up for his older cousin as a hobby, then later took up a love for songwriting and started to perform the songs he wrote at various talent shows and open mics throughout and around the province of Ontario, Canada. After feeling that he had mastered the form of singing/songwriting/rapping, Hype then noticed that after also becoming a father that music was a part of him and was something he could love, enjoy and actually make a living from to support his family. Now he is the newly signed artist to Gee Wunder’s Motive Music label. He is also the main artist for Ether Muzik which consists of Hype and long time friends, T. Major (producer) and Haze P (rapper/producer) and Yaygo (rapper). Making a hit single in 2010 under Ether Muzik called "Wad Up" prod. by T. Major that had regular rotations on 89.9 KCRH(California), 93.7 WBLK and RIPPED RADIO(Maryland) that did great, and since him signing he’s been working really hard on his music since then. Now in 2012 he’s been featured on Gee Wunder’s "Beats, Bars N Hooks" album which came out in HMV stores and itunes early 2012 and released a video to the featured song from the album called “See U Hatin” being rotated on Much Music. He has also had his debut video “Living Good” reach 5000 plus views on you tube in less then a month, which is featured on his first project under Motive Music called “Calm Before The Storm: EP” released May 2012. With his hard work now paying off, starting to show and letting the industry know he’s here. The buzz of Hype’s new single’s “The Life” which is also on his “Calm Before The Storm: EP” and “I’m Brilliant” are building up in clubs, radio, the internet and on the streets. Now the anticipation of his second project which is his album called “Can’t Calm Down” due to release in 2012 has begun, Hype is ready to show the world what the “Hype is all about”!
