"Amanda B"

Ambient sounds and a soft bass line create a sense of mystery to the opening song
"Broken Wings" off Hyske's debut self-titled EP, before a beautifully delicate female voice
is entered into the equation. And it is an equation that is right in so many ways. The 5
songs on this EP are almost flawless to my ears, the production is crisp and the
arrangements and instrumentation are intricate without being too complex. The songs
are earthy and atmospheric, Saara has a fragile voice which sings about fragile things
angels wings, the coldness of winter, autumn leaves. Hyske should be destined for bigger
things soon. - - OZ Music Project

"Heard Magazine"

A very interesting EP this one, with Hyske's sound reminiscent just a tad of The
Cranberries, though only a fleeting instant on "I Remember You", for the most part
though, the band"s sound is one quite clearly of their own making. The band pretty
much consists of male and female duo Dean & Saara, who has a wonderful voice, made
even more impressive with the outstanding instrumentals.
Opener "Broken Wings" is most likely the more familiar track here, as I've come across it
quite a few times before, and there's a lot to like about the sound. The pick for me though
is the less trodden ground of "Mother Dear" which to me is the best sounding song
though it's not something you could easily pick. "As a debut this is extraordinary
listening & we can only wait in wonder for what might be ahead on any speculative
album."

Bio

Hyske started out in a small drum studio where numerous songs/demo's were recorded by Dean and Saara taking them on a musical journey all over Australia to LA, San Francisco, Portland, Vancouver, Seattle. The duo would finally settle in Sydney where they would work with producer DC and sign with Warner Chappell Music. In no time at at all the first single "Broken Wings" gained high rotation airplay on well known radio stations Triple J and FBI nationwide at the same time gaining excellent reviews. Due to the Warner Chappell merger all staff were cut and Hyske found themselves signed to "Origin Music Group."
The duo would then find themselves on tour as an acoustic 3 piece supporting legendary world champion surfer turn musician "Beau Young". The tour turned out to be a huge success with venues inviting them back and Hyske selling out of EP's.
