I*ko - Ya Ya

I*ko - Ya Ya

 El Cerrito, California, USA

I*ko YaYa performs Louisiana-flavored R & B, blues, and other danceable tunes.

From the East Bay, I*ko YaYa's members are also longtime members of some other bay area favorite dance bands.
The musicians got together in 2013 to play the Louisiana-influenced music that moves them, what they call Louisiana flavored swamp 'n roll, and, as Jim Scott reports, “That’s when the party started!” Enjoy a full plate of their favorite New Orleans-flavored dance gumbo – blues and boogie, Cajun/zydeco, R&B, Second Line, and even a lil' country – all delivered with a Mardi Gras vibe.

I*ko YaYa is singer-percussionist Cheryl McBride (born and raised in New Orleans, a member of SwingThing, and a longtime popular Bay Area dance instructor), singer-keyboardist Dave Rogers (SwingThing, Tamsen Donner Blues Band), guitarist Jim Scott (Mark St. Mary, CZ & the Bon Vivants, Jeffery Broussard), bassist-singer, composer/arranger Ryan Houck, drummer Sam Siggins (California Cajun Orchestra, Cordableu) and guitarist -singer, composer, arranger Lance Houck.
