Bio
Gavin Davis is a Christian Contemporary/Gospel solo artist, writer, and producer. He released his first project "I'll Be Your Minister" in July 2007 and which was able to create a strong home fan base and inspire a young generation for God. This project was successfully and purposely geared towards the young adult and teenage age groups to give an alternative to secular music. The “I’ll Be Your Minister” Music Video is on Gospel Music Channel. Gavin has shared the stage with many of todays popular Gospel, Christian Contemporary, and Christian Hip-Hop artists. *New album “Your Way” 2010 release*
Gavin is passionate about making sure the music that God has given him speaks to the Christian and the unbeliever simultaneously. Gavin believes that all music should have substance that points to God, His greatness, and Salvation. Through this ministry, God has used Gavin to sing and speak to the younger generations to inspire them to do the work of the Lord because only what they do for Him will last. He has also been blessed with music sales in the USA, Sweden, Japan, and London.
Gavin was called to the ministry in 2006 and since January 2008, Gavin was the praise and worship minister at Prayer of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Lynchburg, Va. and he was the Choir Director for Lovely Zion Baptist Church in Bedford, Virginia for three years prior. He has been on a number of praise teams, choirs, and groups throughout his music career. Gavin represents the third generation on his family’s Gospel quartet group the “Fantastic Heavenly Five” and they have been ministering for over 60 years. Gavin also recorded two albums with “Chosen”, a ministry team at Liberty University on scholarship. Walking in his deep musical roots, Gavin became an experienced percussionist with a background in concert, jazz, and marching band performance. Gavin wrote his first song at the age of 18 with his college group “Blessed” and God has opened up the scrolls of Heaven ever since.
“Just like the Word of God, God has inspired this music to bless people, young and old, for His glory. Many doors have been opening up and it is a just a matter of time when God will make His name even greater through me, the vessel. I believe this music needs to be heard because there is a remnant of people who will need to be encouraged, lifted up, and even saved through what God allows them to hear. I pray and I believe this is one of the avenues God will use to reach more people with His inspired words that have been given to me through song.”
Gavin has a wife and two daughters and he is currently an academic counselor for E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg, Virginia. Gavin is a graduate of Liberty University with a B.S. in Business.
