Zaz Zielinski is a performing artist, musician, singer and composer with a powerful and undeniably charismatic stage presence. Of Eastern European and African American heritage, his creative inspiration taps into this rich cultural diversity.

Born in Montreal, Zaz studied film before dedicating himself to music. At age 18, the first song that he wrote and produced - “Tonite”, for recording artist Addictiv - quickly rose to CHR Top 15 in Canada and Top 50 on Canadian BILLBOARD Hot 100 Charts, and earned nominations for several Canadian music awards.

Zielinski’s musical influences are vast. He arrived where he is today after a lengthy love affair with various genres of music that began from an early age. His father, a former lead singer of the legendary group The Ohio Players, introduced him to R&B, Gospel and Funk. His mother, a writer and filmmaker who was on the path to becoming a concert pianist in her early years, brought everything from Classical, to Electronica and Reggae to his ear. And then his own passion for music took over and he explored further … from Broadway to Disco and Hip-Hop, from Heavy Metal to Pop … his CD collection truly ranged from Z to A to Z.

By high school, Zaz who had taught himself to play guitar and piano was burning to take his passion to the next level. Unable to find musicians to match his dedication and ability, he set off on his own. Using professional recording technology, he began to produce and compose. Guided by his excellent ear, he was able to master his craft by listening to, then emulating the quality of critically acclaimed albums. Today Zaz is a one-man show who creates his music in studio, inspired by the tradition of other solo artist/composers such as Prince, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, even Beethoven and Bach.

Zaz’s emerging signature sound aims to balance a romantic, classical feel, with a primal rock drive. The outcome exhibits a creative maturity surprising for his 22 years of age.

Zaz Zielinski is a modern artist who has honed his skills independently and developed his knowledge with the use of state-of-the-art technology and a producer’s vision. He represents the new and forceful generation of artists who have a keen appreciation for the aesthetic notion of their music as it translates to identity, branding, visual trademark, and graphic and digital marketing. Zaz is poised to go the full distance and will not settle for anything less. Equally at home in the studio as on stage, he is hungry for the crowds. His very first public performance – featuring on “Tonite” alongside artist Addictiv – brought him before 18,000 people at Z103‘s Summer Rush Festival in Toronto, where they were opening for acts such as Lady Gaga and Nelly.
