Ian Adams

Ian Adams

 Boston, Massachusetts, USA
BandAlternativeSinger/Songwriter

Ian Adams plays simple rock n' roll in the vein of Lou Reed, Paul Westerbergh, and Alex Chilton, filtered through an art damaged head to tell the stories of a haunted heart, and a lost soul.

Biography

Ian Adams has been howling in the Boston music scene for years in loud garage rock outfits like 8-Ball Shifter and Rock City Crimewave. Stay Up Late is his first effort to turn down the volume and express himself with the type of music that made him fall in love with Rock N' Roll in the first place. Don't expect James Taylor though; The inner world of Ian Adams is a dark creepy place where love, sex, and death ride on the devils back. The spacious reverb laden guitars, lush keyboards, and Phil Spector-esque drums give feelings of a cinematic rock n' roll dream where you realize too late that David Lynch is the director.

Stay Up Late

Written By: Ian Adams

STAY UP LATE

Stay up late, with me tonight,
There's some things you can only see by the street lights
Tomorrow's coming if you're tired or not, so darling won't you,
stay up late with me tonight
Hiding out behind a cloud, drifting in between those lonesome little stars
Just tell me everything you want, I'll keep it safe right here,
In my blue heart
Stay up late, with me tonight,
we got the radio tuned in just right,
the ghost of Bolan motivates across the o-zone
and you only fall in love like this once in your life

A Man Possessed

Written By: Ian Adams

A MAN POSSESSED

In the deep dark ocean, sinking like a stone
c'mon darling c'mon now, I don't wanna go it alone
I got something that I gotta get out of my chest
Ever since I let you in I'm a man possessed
Crawling on my belly , howling at the moon
c'mon darling c'mon now, it just can't happen too soon
I got something that I gotta get out of my chest
Ever since I let you in I'm a man possessed
I went to the doctor, I went to the priest,
I said c'mon darling c'mon now, I gotta get a little release
I got something that I gotta get out of my chest
Ever since I let you in I'm a man possessed

Oh, Dracula

Written By: Ian Adams

OH DRACULA

Laid out in your lonesome tomb, bloated, swollen, drunk on blood
wrapped up tight in perfect gloom, waiting for the night to come
Don't you know that it's almost time for you
to rise again?
Oh Dracula, Oh Dracula, Oh Dracula, Oh Dracula,
Hair slicked back and dressed to kill, your lovers writhe between the sheets
they bare their pale white skin to you, but all you give them is your teeth,
Don't you know it's almost time for you
to drink again?
Oh Dracula, Oh Dracula, Oh Dracula, Oh Dracula,
Injured bats lay scattered
all across the dusty tomb floor
children of the night
crying for your daddy, they say
Oh Dracula, Oh Dracula, Oh Dracula, Oh Dracula,
Don't you know that it's almost time for you
To sleep again

I Got It Bad

Written By: Ian Adams

I GOT IT BAD

She floated in, dirty little ghost
Filling my lungs, black curling smoke,
Miss Mary Anne
I got it bad
Never gonna sleep again
Wrapped up tight, between her legs,
The cruelest vice, her poison eggs,
Miss Mary Anne
I got it bad
Never gonna sleep again
Late at night the night dreams of you
The stars and the moon dream of you
The clouds get drunk and slide out of their skins
Waiting to rain all over you
An ocean of liquor, a river of sin
How can you drown, what's under your skin?
Miss Mary Anne
I got it bad
Never gonna sleep again
I got it bad- Just one more time -
I got it bad- Miss Mary Anne
A drink for the Devil and none for the rest I got sick, sick, sick, all over my chest.

Precious Time

Written By: Ian Adams

PRECIOUS TIME

Just a precious moment of your time
Slipping through my fingers in the night
If I live to be a hundred
And see a hundred million things
White snow in the winter time
And green leaves in the Spring
I know all I'll ever want
Is another moment of your precious time
Laying on our bed in the dark
with you sleeping silently beside
If I live to ninety-nine
and I get to see it all
Sunshine in the Summertime
And red leaves in the Fall
I know all I ever want
Is another moment of your precious time
Oh whoa, oh whoa, oh your precious time
