Bio

Born in Kingston upon Hull, England, Ian Brusby was raised on a mixed musical diet of everything from Bacharach to Beethoven. Always tapping along to songs would eventually lead to him taking drum lessons, but as his interest in composition and songwriting grew he soon realised that being a drummer would probably be limiting so he decided to learn to play the guitar. Mainly selftought, although studying for a while under Peter Wiltschinsky of the classical guitar duo "Hill/Wiltschinsky", Ian found that he enjoyed what the guitar offered both as an instrument of expression and as a tool for songwriting. Recording his early songs on a four track "Portastudio" gave Ian experience in arranging and mixing music and he always tried to produce a good overall sound even using limited equipment. Over the years Ian has played numerous concerts in England and in places such as "The Rock Garden" and "The 12 Bar Club" in London and recorded in various studios. He has songs produced by Gary Langan (The Art of Noise, Spandau Ballet, Yes), Tony Tavener (Duran Duran, Jeff Beck, The Jam) and Bob Pridden (The Who, Eric Clapton). Musicians that have recorded with him include John Entwistle (The Who), Steve Pigott (Living in a Box, Mike and the Mechanics, 10cc) and guitar virtuoso Gordon Giltrap. Ian has also been involved in producing girl band Milan4, played some gigs with U.S artist Richard Morris and is currently playing guitar and keyboards with Spanish pop/rock band Buenas Intenciones.
