I have been a studio hound ever since I got my first sound-on-sound recorder back in the 70s. I have played solo, in rock bands, cover bands & country- rock bands since then but my first love is the studio.
My influences are wide - from opera to punk, I listen to and absorbe everything! 27 years working in record stores opens your mind to every kind of music, and it is all reflected somewhere in my albums.
Biggest infuences? Beatles, Beach Boys, Who, Byrds, Genesis, Yes, Fairport Convention, Neil Young, Procol Harum, Bizet, Mozart, Wagner, Rodgers & Hart, Jimmy Webb, Bob Marley, Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan, Monty Python.
My other passion is preserving music. In an effort to save & share great but little known Canadian artists, I have released two CDs by diverse but wonderful acts: The Townsmen "We're Doing Fine: The Anthology" (60s pop) & James H. Robinson "The Songs We Sing" (80s country/rock). More to come!
