Bio
Ian Gunn is an Australian songwriter, now based in London, England. He studied music at Sydney University before completing a BA (Hons) in English Literature at Macquarie University, Sydney.
He writes beautiful, sweeping melodies and strong but elegant lyrics.
His song "Heart of Australia" was a finalist in the 2011 UK Songwriting Competition in the Show Song and Open categories.
His instrumental "Last Time" was a finalist in the US-based 2011 Song of the Year contest.
"Heart of Australia" was recorded in 2000 by Tenor Australis on their album "Under an Australian Sky" (EMI Australia). The recording on this site is Ian's original demo.
Ian has also won two national Australian journalism awards as a sub-editor. His headlines earned him a Walkley Award in 2004 and a News Award in 2005.
He is now working full-time on his music.
