Bio
Canadian singer/song writer/recording artist from Ottawa, Ontario.
"Hope For Today" is for fans of: Kutless, Lifehouse, Matthew West, Sanctus Real, Thousand Foot Krutch, Matt Maher, Daughtry.
The first time you hear Ian Warner’s music, you’ll remember great rhythms, whether it’s a gritty rock anthem like New Direction or a strong ballad like Grace Prevails. The next thing you’ll remember are lyrics that remind you that nothing is too big for God to handle, and that He’s our hope in this crazy world.
Ian’s style is fundamentally contemporary Christian rock, but he likes to stretch the boundaries with visits to hard rock from time to time. Although his musical style is somewhat fluid, he doesn’t waver from solid Christian lyrics that reflect who God is, and that He wants a relationship with us. Fortunately, he’s married both into music that appeals to a wide audience.
Ian is one of those rare 1, 2 combinations; a gifted songwriter and a voice that breathes life to his songs. His debut album, “Hope for Today”, was strong enough to receive a 2011 nomination for Covenant Award Modern Rock Album of the Year by the Gospel Music Association. Andrew Horrocks, the 2011 Covenant Award-winning Producer of the Year, produced the album.
"He is the go to guy in Canada for Christian music! I had a blast working with Andy on this record. He pushed me musically and caused me to think out of the box. He understood my vision and really pushed me to produce the best record I could put out there. I liked that he works with artists I admire, like Thousand Foot Krutch, Hello Kelly, Vineyard Music, Chris Bray, and Scott Towaij."
"My goal for this album was to write songs that could help inspire people and to let them know that God is always here".
People who have heard the album say it has helped them draw closer to God through personal worship, and help them give difficult situations over to God.
Ian has pulled together a great band which played at his CD release concert, opened for Newworldson, and other local gigs. He’s also writing new songs for his next album, with King of my Life being the first in production.
