Lyrics

It's Alright By Me

Written By: Elizabeth Cline

To be feeling how I feel
I can’t believe he’s gone now
Hair like mine blue eyes that shine
Touched me like the sun

(Chorus)
We may have picked a pretty bad time
But it’s all right by me
Is it real outside my mind?
Yet knowing it will last the length of our lifetime

I watched you sleep so peacefully
Fighting inside to keep my cool
Tears came welling up inside
Why must they fall so easily?

(Chorus)
You didn’t have to say what you said
But it’s all right by me
Can I come in now, from the cold?
I’m home somehow with an old friend

Sometimes I feel you in my soul
I knew you’d come but I don’t know how
Try to push you outta my mind
Our kisses still are with me now

(Chorus)
You don’t need this woman child
But it’s all right by me
Why’d you wanna hear it, you already know?
She fell in love in the fall of the first snow

(Bridge/instrumental break – change up)

I live where fantasies of that time
Run through me like a hurricane
Set my memory on fire with you
And my body on end

(Chorus)
How can we be so far apart?
But it’s all right by me
Space in my heart through which you can see
Our mystery and sense of discovery

I wasn’t wrong to wonder long ago
A taste as sweet as I’d ever known
Against reason my soul craves more
No other touch comes close

(Chorus)
I don’t wanna scare him away
That’s not all right by me
Don’t wanna cause anyone pain
But reason has no grip and reserve is a stranger

Now the axes stay in tune
Settled back, complacently
In a way, I’ve always known you
Quench my thirsty soul

(Chorus)
We may have picked a pretty bad time
But it’s all right by me
Is it real outside my mind?
Yet knowing it will last the length of our lifetime

Moving Day

Written By: Elizabeth Cline

(Verse 1)
Garmet bags where dreams hang, broken/ boxes filled with thoughts, unspoken/ empty promises, books unread/ stacked on words we should've said/ all this chaos in my head/ the symphony ..... of our life together

(Chorus)
It seems as though we should've known/ our hearts deceived us as we've grown/ I'm not sure what you do to me/ but don't you see we can't ..... go on?

(Verse 2) The future we won't have, wrapped up/ in empty bowls and paper cups/ a picture taken in happy times/ no indication or no sign/ no clue .... to all the times/ we cut ... each other to the bone

(Chorus)
It seems as though we should've known/ our hearts deceived us as we've grown/ I'm not sure what you do to me/ but don't you see we can't ..... go on?

(Bridge)
Your coat .. is still hangin' on the - closet door/ my heart's still spillin' on the kitchen floor

(Chorus)
It seems as though we should've known/ our hearts deceived us as we've grown/ I don't know what you do to me/ but don't you see we can't ..... go on?

(Verse 3) A broken faucet, dripping, leaking/ the sound of my heart slowly breaking/ nothing I can say will heal us/ everything you say makes it worse / I have nothing left to say/ will I ....... survive this moving day?

Letters

Written By: Elizabeth Cline

She writes him a letter
As she sits behind bars
She tells him her story
Straight from her heart

He finds a way to tell her
She has everything she needs
He helps her trade her pain
For a little bit of peace
She sees not everything's hopeless
She learns again what love is

He travels to the prison
To see her face to face
He wonders how a girl so sweet
Wound up in this place

He brings her clothes and photographs
Books for her to read
She thanks him for his kindness
For everything he said
He tells her not to be afraid
He helps her to find her own way ...

(Bridge)
Oh don't you know
That you take my breath away?
And can't you see
You're everything I need?

He finds a way to tell her
She has everything she needs
He helps her trade her pain
For a little bit of peace
He tells her not to be afraid
He helps her to find her own way ...
He tells her not to be afraid
He helps her to find her own way ...

So Nice

Written By: Elizabeth Cline

It's so nice to see you again my friend
Why has it been so long?
Don't know what to say after all this time
Did we end it before we'd begun?

When I think of you/from time to time
Sometimes I wish I/were yours and you were mine
I know now what we had/is precious and rare
I wish you would realize/just how much I care

It's so good to see you again my friend
Why has it been so long?
We've tortured and toyed with our love/for so long
Did we end it before we'd begun?

When I think of you/from time to time
Sometimes I wish I/were yours and you were mine
I know now what we had/is precious and rare
I wish you would realize/just how much I care

I've done what I can to unlock/your heart
Why has it been so long?
I wish I knew where we went wrong

I don't know if I should whine or cry
You smile at me toss me a bone
Won't you pet me baby let me follow you home?

You've turned me into a - Lust Puppy
Are you ever gonna scratch what itches
I wanna be your - Lust Puppy
Tug my leash I'll wag my tail for you!

A tasty treat you're such a tease
Fill my bowl, I'm easy to please
So sweet and sexy playful and true
Rub me all over 'cause I'm pantin' for you!

Wontcha be my - Lust Puppy
Are you ever gonna scratch what itches?
You've turned me into a - Lust Puppy
Tug my leash I'll wag my tail for you!
Rub me all over 'cause I'm pantin' for you
Tug my leash I'll wag my tail for you!

No Guarantees

Written By: Ibby Cline

Years ago I'd given up/too beaten up to care
A look a smile a song from you/I found comfort there
You sang your way into my life/caressed my battered heart
Swimming in your deep brown eyes/I've forgotten where to start

(Chorus)
Life is just a photograph/smile, if you please
But in the photo op of love/there are no guarantees

You don't know what I'm thinking/and only my first name
But the picture of you in my heart/won't fit inside a frame
I'll take your heart of darkness/kiss it with my trust
Put it in a picture/next to a dreamer's faith in us

Life is just a photograph/smile, if you please
But in the photo op of love/there are no guarantees....

(Bridge)
Anything you want/anything you need
I wish that I could hand it to you/a photo .. you could see

Life is just a photograph/smile, if you please
But in the photo op of love/there are no guarantees .....

A love that tastes like freedom/a love that doesn't need
These things I want to give you/my heart's own warranty

But life is just a photograph/smile, if you please
And in the photo op of love/there are no guarantees
Yeah, life is just a photograph/smile, if you please
But in the photo op of love/there are no guarantees,
There are no guarantees

Another Kind of Love

Written By: Elizabeth Cline

My days were like a fog
I was slowly wading through
Then I woke up from my nightmare
To a lovely dream of you
Your kisses feather soft
Your smile a ray of sun
You've given me the courage to go on

Now I know that anything is possible
You've shown me there's another kind of love
Now I see the path in front of me
You've shown me there's another kind of love

Didn't know how lost I was
until I felt your touch
Couldn't see how sad I was
until I saw your smile
My heart locked up so long
Your smile a ray of sun
All I thought I knew of love is wrong

Now I know that anything is possible
You've shown me there's another kind of love
Now I see the path in front of me
You've shown me there's another kind of love

Baby don't be scared
This love feels just as strange to me

Now I know that anything is possible
You've shown me there's another kind of love
Now I see the path in front of me
You've shown me there's another kind of love

Now I know that anything is possible
You've shown me there's another kind of love
Now I see the path in front of me
You've shown me there's another kind of love
