Ibeji

Ibeji began as a trio of songwriting musicians who shared similar visions of what musicianship and sound entails: meaningful lyrics enmeshed in harmonies, groove, and melodies to bring out the emotional depth of those lyrics.

After initially realizing they shared a musical vision, Roger Davis (Rajah), Chester Spivey (Che), and Chris Freeman (Free) dubbed themselves Ibeji, the name of the handmade wooden dolls fashioned by the Yoruban people of west Africa upon the birth of twin children based on the belief that the two bodies share the same spirit.

Having played everything from intimate acoustic settings adorned by candlelight, to thousands-strong music festivals, the trio learned crowd connection very fast and have brought countless fans into the world of Ibeji...
