Bio

Icarus Down was formed in 2004 by a group of four musicians
trying to figure out a new sound that would differ from
any other musical experiences they had in the past.
They all come from relatively different musical backgrounds,
hence the search for the diversity of styles ranging from
atmospheric to heavy, but in all means uncompromising and
meaningful.

A demo with 10 tracks was released in 2005 which was recorded
and promoted trough the Slovene scene by themselves.
After the departure of two band members in 2006, Alan Jancic on
guitar and Jaka Tavš on drums filled the gap and started
writing new music as well as playing gigs trough out Slovenia.
Later that year an EP titled Soundtrack Of A Weekend was released,
containing three songs. A video for the single Push Me And I'll Let You
got good reviews and was aired on numerous major Slovene tv stations.
The video was entirely produced by Icarus Down themselves, following
their passion of stepping out of the mold of just making music,
and be creative on different fields as well.

After touring trough Slovenia they decided to get back in the studio
in 2007, and record a debut record. The album Contortions, Moods swings
And The Inevitable Decay Of Relationships was released in early December
2007 under CPZ records. A video followed for the first single Minus All.
Second single and video for the song Venus was released in early 2008.

After the promo tour in Slovenia and abroad they again headed to the
the studio in the summer of 2008, to record a double album titled
The Burning Water Project. First album titled ANALOG, was released
in late 2008 as a free download. It is an acoustic rendition of
songs from their previous releases including the demo they've
recorded in 2005. The group invited the guitarist Jure Zdovc to join them
on acoustic guitar, Barbara Avsenak on vocals, and Urban Knez on
clarinet.

They released the second album DIGITAL in early 2009,
which was also available for free download. It contains the darker,
colder side of Icarus Down. It's noisy, sequenced, arrhythmic, ambient
feel compliments the warmer side of the double album.

After the tour and the departure of their lead singer Jernej Jevševar
they decided to take a break, and find a new, intense, fresh sound.
During that period they merged with Tomaž Mihelec, who became their
new lead singer and guitarist, and Jure Zdovc who contributed
on their previous work on guitar. The band became a 5 piece,
determined to change the concept of the band, again play different
music and continue to challenge themselves with an uncompromising
outlook on their work.
They are currently finishing their fifth album. Some of the new material
is already available online, and a new single and a video for it will be available
in the near future.
