Icarus

Icarus is a contemporary-rock band from Reykjavik, Iceland. Icarus weaves a complex tapestry of rock that include alternative, nu-metal and post-rock. Pretty melodies suddenly boil into huge walls of sound before simmering back down. The band spent the Summer of 2012 in NYC, where it recorded its debut EP, ‘Ephemeral,’ and played at illustrious venues including Fontana´s, Lit Lounge and The Bitter End. In April 2012, Icarus competed in Musiktilraunir – the annual Icelandic “Battle of the Bands” competition – where the band was a Top 10 finalist. Grapevine News praised the band as “three young dudes playing some heavy ‘90s style garage rock [that] brought us back to the age where alternative met nu-metal, but sans vocals.”
