"David Starfire's Bollyhood Bass"

.... “The?Beat,” for example, features a charmingly squidgy synthesizer bass, rolling dhol drum, and?sharp-tongued rapping courtesy of guest MC with vocals by iCatching. “Shout It Out” prominently features some very?fine beatboxing (by Lynx) alongside an acoustic guitar-driven groove and even more rapping, all of it leavened by various Asian flavors. Other Caribbean influences are audible throughout the album as well: on “Baghdad,” the slow and trip-hoppy beat is interwoven with explicitly dubwise reverb and echo effects and punctuated by Jamaica-inflected vocal samples; “Load” piles on layers of science fiction dub effects as well, this time juxtaposed with keening Asian vocals. - Global Noize

"Bass Science - Slip n Slide"

I'd really wish hearing more of this type of approch to production and composition building from the glitch hop / heavy bass/ dubstep camp. David Starfire's remix (f. I-Catching) of Mochipet's Godzilla New Year is still one of my favorite anthems, thus I am positive Slip'N'Slide's remix by them will be killing!! Pretty excited to hear the entire thing next week. - Doktorkrank

"In Case You Missed It: iCatching works with N.A.S.A. and David Starfire"

Originally from Lexington, KY, iCatching (birth name Tiffany Catching), is trying to work her way into the hip-hop world with the help of super fly producer David Starfire. She’s pretty new to the game, and doesn’t have a lot of music to her name, but her first single, “Music,” shows a lot of promise.

Her name has come up recently on Starfire’s remix of N.A.S.A.’s great new song “Whatchadoin” (which features the likes of Spank Rock, M.I.A., Santogold and Nick Zinner). Here’s to hoping we hear some more from her and Starfire. Check out all I have with her name on it.

"Women Who Spit: iCatching"

Got some new music for you all. These tracks are from up and coming female emcee iCatching (Tiffany Catching)

Originally hailing from Lexington, KY, this 6’ tall former model has been rapping on stage since 17 and ready for the world. She drops some dope rhymes over her elecro/r&b tracks which are produced by David Starfire.

You don’t see many female emcees who can actually spit well, but she pulls it off with style. She definitely can compete with her male counterparts.

Check out her new song Gotta Get It, a bootleg remix off the upcoming Flo Rida album, as well as another original track.

"This Weekend: Lightning In A Bottle"

A few weeks ago at Coachella we discovered the Do Lab, who had been brought in by art curator extraordinaire Phil Blaine, to transform the midway of Coachella into a magic village where you would hear fresh new music (discovering the beautiful and talented rapper I-Catching was a festival highlight; she'll be at this weekend's event) check out some bugged-out vaudeville revues, and of course join in the water-spraying mayhem which simultaneously cooled peeps off and drove them into a dancing, jumping frenzy under the desert sun.

Bio

iCatching rocked the Do LaBs Oasis stage at Coachella 2008 and 2009 along side other artists such as Jay Z, Lupe Fiasco, Prince, M.I.A, Portishead, Yo! Majesty, Little Brother, the Cure, Public Enemy, TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeah's and more. She had an impromptu performance at the Black Eyed Peas member Apl-de-Ap's Jeepney Label launch party that was very will received. Tiffany also performs with Star-Culture, which is David Starfire's Audio Visual performance project and performed in front of 130,000 people at the Lovevolution festival in San Francisco. She had the #1 song on the BBC show Friction for 2 weeks in April 2009 and was also a semi-finalist in the Scion Vocalist competition and is finalist for the Rip the Mic Tour.

In college at University of Louisville, iCatching began performing with an all girl rap group I.Q and established a name for herself in Kentucky. Being called to fulfill her dreams of becoming a rap artist and with a promising modeling career, she moved to LA and attended the Los Angeles Audio Recording School in Hollywood to learn about recording and the music business. She felt that she wanted to learn more about the recording process and music business first hand. After graduating with a perfect GPA, she interned at Windswept Music Publishing and then worked at Warner Chappell Music Publishing as an A&R assistant while all along writing and perfecting her craft.

In 2007, iCatching started writing songs with producer David Starfire, an artist signed to the renowned independent label Six Degrees Records. Together the two have written catchy hip-hop/electro/world/funk that defy genres, but yet fits in many. iCatchings rapping against hard hitting hip hop beats with slamming bass lines, quirky musical sounds and pop sensibilities is the right formula for killer tunes. The song "The Beat" written by David and iCatching is featured on David's Bollyhood Bass album on Six Degrees Records and the song "Tumbi Blaster" is featured on the Nu Asian SoundsZ compilation.

Currently David and Tiffany are finishing up an album to shop for distribution to labels, managers and publishing companies. Currently she performs around the country with David Starfire as well as her own shows . Also performing along with her is Toya and Julia as her additional singers/dancers for a super high energy show. Watch out world cause there is no limit with this talented rapper/singer!
