I Mau Mau Production have released 'The Essence of I-cient-cy Mau' EP. This electronic release contain the popular hit single that is creating an worldwide buzz 'Struggle' as well as 'Works To Do', Caan Follow None a Dem', Give Thanks And Praises', featuring Mexy and 'The outer View'.
'The Essence of I-cient-cy Mau' brings a freshness to the music, it is authentic roots and culture sound, it is the Mau Mau sound.The sound is called the' "Crying Out sound", that is all original melody and rhythm recorded at Tuff Gong international recording studio, using some of Jamaica's most gifted musicians in reggae music. Included in this illustrious list are; on drums Wilburn 'squidle' Cole, Leroy 'Horse Mouth' Wallace, Jermaine Songo Wilson; bass, Christopher Meredith; keyboards,Tony 'Asher' Brissette, Christopher Meredith, Jeffery Graham; rhythm, guitar, Jermaine 'Gadget' Reid; percussions, Skully, Sticky Thompson and Richardo 'St. Patrick' Lawrence and on horns, Dean Fraser.
`I-cient-cy Mau is set to become one of Jamaica's Reggae ambassadors, born and raised in the outermost parts of Jamaica's ghettos, namely Trench Town and Central Village in Spanish Town, I-cient-cy developed his skills using his everyday struggle and the strong influences from some of Jamaica's greatest ambassadors.
Trench Town being the base for reggae music, I-cient-cy has inherited that unique sound. The EP released has a roots rock sound, mix with a combination of strong vocals over the melodic drum and bass. It's the true ghetto experience all blended in harmony.
The first two singles off the album, 'Works To Do' and 'Struggle' Pack a solid one-two punch that has the world wanting more. 'Works To Do' spent 33 weeks on the BESS FM culture chart and spent eight weeks at number one. 'Struggle' spent 20 weeks on the BESS FM culture chart and spent five weeks at number one in Jamaica.
The music video is as the lyrical content to the song. I-cient-cy performance in the video is energizing and makes everyone realize that we all have 'Works To Do'. 'Give Thanks and Praises' is currently getting good rotation on radio and is considered an inspirational prayer for many of I-cient-cy's fans.
The Hit song 'Struggle' ('Nothing is for free') is one that everyone can relate to as it pertain to our day to day life. 'We are from Trench Town' will have everyone claiming that they too are from Trench Town. 'When Words Come To Life' is the title song from the album t will let everyone know that the words we choose brings the reality we all live.

ICIENTCY’S MOTHER, ELIZA “MS SHIRLEY” TEMPLE FROM CLARENDON, FATHER EDMOND “PAINTER” WILLIAMS FROM ST. ELIZABETH, MET THERE WHILE LOOKING FOR WORK IN KINGSTON. IN THE MIDIST OF THIS BEAUTIFUL RELATIONSHIP CAME THREE SONS “JUNIOR DESMOND WILLIAMS” WAS THE SECOND SON FOR THE COUPLE.
GIVING LIFE TO “ICIENTCY” A NAME THAT WAS GIVEN TO HIM FROM HIS CHILDHOOD DAYS BY ELDERS IN MANY INNER CITY COMMUNITIES, MEANING “ANCIENT ONE “. WHILE ATTENDING EXCELSIOR HIGH SCHOOL HE READ ABOUT THE MAU MAU MOVEMENT THAT WAS KENYA'S MILITANT RESISTANCE AGAINST BRITISH COLONIAL RULE, THAT BEGAN IN 1946 AND ENDED IN 1961 WITH MANY MAU MAU WARRIORS LOOSING THEIR LIVES. HIS CONNECTION TO THEIR PLIGHT MADE HIM REALIZED HE WOULD SOME DAY DRAW UPON THEIR STRENGTH AND INSPIRATION, PUTTING IT INTO HIS MUSIC. THUS GIVEN BIRTH TO THE NAME OF HIS BAND “ICIENTCY MAU AND THE MAU MAU WARRIORS”
AFTER DEVELOPING THE MAU MAU SOUND, ICIENTCY NOW SET OUT TO ASSEMBLE THE MAU MAU WARRIORS. JERMAINE "GADGET" REID (RHYTHM GUITAR, VOCALIST) GREW UP IN ICIENTCY’S HANDS MUSICALLY. JERMAINE INTRODUCE ICIENTCY TO JERMAINE "SONGO" WILSON A DRUMMER THAT WAS ATTENDING THE EDNA MANLEY SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS, SONGO INTRODUCE BOTH HIS COUSIN DAMION BENJAMIN WHO PLAYS BASS GUITAR AND JEFFERY GRAHAM WHO PLAYS KEYBOARDS. RICHARDO "ST. PATRICK" LAWRENCE A LONG TIME FRIEND OF ICIENTCY, JOINED THE WARRIORS AS THE PROCUSSIONIST. ICIENTCY MET NINA KARL A VOCALIST, MANY YEARS AGO AND ENCOURAGE HER TO SING BECAUSE HE KNEW ONE DAY HE WOULD NEED HER SIGNATURE SOUND TO ACCOMPANY THE WARRIORS. CHRIS “JAH CHRIS” SHEPHERD (LEAD GUITAR, VOCALIST) A GREAT BREDREN FROM MANY MOONS AGO JOIN THE BAND TO ADD MORE TO THE MAU MAU SOUND. AT THE WARRIOR’S FIRST REHEARSAL ICIENTCY KNEW HE HAD CREATED THE MAU MAU WARRIORS OF THIS TIME.
