Discography

I most recently was the guitarist on Pam Baker's recenr release "The Blues Won't Wait." Since I've had friends call me to tell me they heard some cuts on the radio, I'm assuming that it's getting airplay somewhere.

Bio

In my study of blues I have found that a lot of classic blues artists from the 50's & 60's would play something totally different on alternate takes of the same song. On some occasions a player like Little Walter might even go so far as to play an entirely different rythm on a familiar song. This is a crucial point to make because it is the entire basis for my approach to the blues. I believe the blues lies in the personal development and abilities of the bandmembers. As a result of this philosophy, the I.C. Waters shows have a very "real" feel and an exciting vibe.
There is a good deal of soloing at our shows but it's more interactive between the players. It tends to fit with the rythmic pulse of the song as opposed to ripping over prescribed changes. This translates to a feeling of a new experience for the listener even if they're hearing the same material. It affords the fan the unique opportunity to grow along with the band.

I have jammed with Bo Diddley, Michael Burkes, Larry McCray, Lucky Peterson, Walter Washington and many others at the allstar jams I help conduct up here at the North Atlantic Blues Festival.

I am also representing Maine in the solo/duo category at this years International Blues Competition in Memphis.
