Ida Myrtis

With influences from the Beatles, the Doors, and the Floyd, Ida Myrtis is a Dirty Folk Rock Jam Band with space filled organ passages in the vain of Ray Manzerek, David Gilmoure-esque licks, and a ever changing rhythm section inspired by the Beatles. Lyrically you will hear themes of the battles between demons and angels, the neglect of home cooked meals, love, death, and colors.

Ida Myrtis began this journey on the 40th anniversary of the Summer of Love. That summer of '07 the band began playing live gigs in their hometown of Texarkana, a growing town that claims both Texas and Arkansas. In that small amount of time, the band won 2nd place at the Battle of the Bands which allowed them much needed studio time to record a handful of original tunes for their first EP entitled "Teaches Typing." With a product in hand, a growing fan base, and a year of playing coming around the corner the band is full of high hopes.
