"Grove City Band tops contest"

"A quick name chnage didnt affect a Grove City groups ability to affect the judges at Saturdays Graffiti Rock Challenge Finals. Following a set that included fresh material, Idiosympathy, formerly 'the quick', emerged the latest winner in the contest's 22 year history. Throughout the contest ballots wre cast by entertainment writers from local media and industry representatives. As first place winners, Idiosympathy will receive a prize package that includes recording time for a full length album at the bands choice of three local studios, mastering, duplication and artwork for 1000 CDs; a showcase gig at Mr. Smalls and marketing to regional college stages." - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

"This guy sums it up well"

"Idiosympathy's music displayed a wall of ethereal guitar noise over thick bass lines; it featured creatively structured, yet palpable - sometimes acoustic - guitar harmonies mingling with soaring notes from a vocalist straddling a tug of war between thom yorks labored tonality and jeff buckley's eerily peacful cries. You'll hear more from this band" - Tribune Review - march 10, 2005

Bio

Nearing the end of 2004 the band, which to that point called itself “the quick”, discovered a west coast group of the same name would keep them from releasing their new ep as planned. Thus the name ‘idiosympathy’ was assumed just in time to win Pittsburgh’s prestigious Graffiti Rock Challenge, shortly after sweeping the Nick’s Fat City’s Rock Wars. Though they are often compared to radiohead, u2, or jeff buckley, the band refuses to be held down by comparisons and instead moves ahead to something new and something fresh. Everything idiosympathy has sought to accomplish has been realized thus far. Their professional attitude and musical foresight will continue to attract attention from industry professionals as it already has from EMI and RCA, while their impassioned and tight live sets will draw and enthrall listeners.

Idiosympathy has shared the stage with bands such as lovedrug, army of me, new invisible joy, monarch, and this band is called the you, as well as played opening stages for national acts like fall out boy, hoobastank, head automatica, velvet revolver, suburban legends, and rusted root. They look forward to promoting their first ep “we have lost our self control” and extending their area of play beyond Pittsburgh. Pay attention.
