Bio
idiot Proof was formed in North Jersey in 1999 by bassist Charley Martin, drummer Burak Saro Tirtir, and guitarist Matt Fugazzie. They started playing house parties in their local area, until they picked up singer Richard Jenkins and guitarist Raymond Barto.
With the new additions, idiot Proof began playing gigs at local clubs and other venues. They performed in both talent shows and Battle of the Bands. In late 2001, they put on a concert benefiting the victims of families from September 11th. By the spring of 2002, they had garnered a huge local following, and released their debut album, "Caught In The Headlights," independently.
Throughout the next year, sales on the album reached over a thousand, and the band began work on their follow-up album. Recently, they have released a home recorded EP featuring a few new songs they have written since their first album.
In addition to playing in clubs this summer, they are planning to record the followup to "Caught In Headlights" sometime this fall. Their main influences include, but are not limited to bands such as The Pixies, The Ramones, U2, Cheap Trick, Green Day, Blink 182, Third Eye Blind, The Beatles, and Weezer.
