Bio
Id vs. Ego was born in the swamps of southern Louisiana in 2001. As a unit, the band is reminiscent of a variety of classic and modern rock legends including Led Zeppelin, Queens of the Stoneage, U2, Tool, and The Mars Volta. Individually, the members have been known to dabble in a variety of styles: Person came away with from a year long residency in Costa Rica with a unique take on the South American tribal drumming sound that will never leave him. Porche, a former member of metal bands at a younger age, developed his unique style after being an accomplished classically trained guitarist at the University of Louisiana. Tareq, a native of Kuwait, brings middle-eastern scales to his already dynamic vocal range. Finally, Hawkins, a third generation Hawkins bass player brings stylings from blues to reggae to punk and beyond. The wide variety of influences blend together into what is undeniably Id vs. Ego. And what does that mean? Four musicians whose life experiences and musical backgrounds blend to form something powerful and sincere; talented individuals who've commited their lives to music, performance, integrity and inspiration.
