Bio
Ieshia Le's music is influenced by legends Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Dinah Washington and modern day greats like Nina Simone and Sade.
Combining the old traditional style with a new modern flare is Ieshia Le's quest. Her vocal range and distinctive vocal arrangements set her apart from other artists.
Ieshia was taught to sing by her mother whom she affectionately calls Queen Wandalene and whose formal vocal training and New Orleans roots have given Ieshia a passion for jazz. She grew up listening to her father’s jazz albums which included so many of the jazz greats. Although Ieshia first thought the music was too grown up, she quickly fell in love with the art form and started mimicking these greats by the time she was seven. Soon afterwards, her infatuation of world beat music developed when she started listening to Egyptian, Brazilian and Afro-Cuban music which reinforced passion, deep rhythms and melodic harmonies—things captured in Ieshia’s music.
