Music, according to Webster's, is an art consisting of sound and silence expressed through time. The talent of this band is such that one can feel that it IS art. Ifitis strives for their art to be felt and considered.

Matt Cunningham's inspired and sublimely ardent song writing, unique lyrical format, and strong vocals come together to form a style of its own. The band has a magnetic acoustic sound with the intricate melodic beats of drummer Dan Ferguson. Dan's jazz drum background provides a sonic canvas to Matt's guitar & vocals.

Ifitis formed in 2003 and was originally comprised of Matt performing vocals and electric guitar, Dan on drums , and bassist Alan Spivak. In 2004 Alan left the band to pursue personal obligations and the band headed in a new acoustic direction.

Matt's artistic, symphonic aptitude is rare and uncommonly heard. His skill with multiple instruments allows him to compose his unrepeated sound. Fans inquire often of Matt's unique guitar picking and chord structure.

Ifitis draws from many influences of varying eras and genres. Maynard of Tool & A Perfect Circle, Anthony Green of Circa Survive, Brandon Boyd of Incubus, and solo Justin Timberlake have all been vocal and lyrical influences.
