"N/A"

We played a charity event out in Santa Clarita, and College of the Canyons printed this review:

"Five bands followed...as those in attendence enjoyed cool beverages and music.  Not to be outdone, If You See Kate closed the show with a blazing set that left slam dancers gasping for breath and electricity in short supply!" - David Scoggins

""Battle of the Fans""

If You See Kate didn’t have the high numbers, but this college style band had quality fans... [one] dressed like a “Catholic school girl” who sold the t-shirts, promoted the CD’s, and increased the e-mail list. The lead singer Mike Castillo Walsh sounded especially good on the soft rock lyric “Waiting For You” which is a romantic song and “Daydreams and Nightmares” that shows us the band’s softer more emotional side... The drummer Jordan Perkins Lewis has high energy and keeps the band’s music flowing both on stage and on their impressive demo CD. His consistent powerful drumming style raises If You See Kate to the next level.

Bio

If You See Kate... formed as a band in early March of 2003. Not so long ago, but there is no fewer than thirty years combined professional experience backing this group every time they set foot on stage. By the way, they’re all under twenty-five. (but +21)

A hodgepodge of Santa Clarita's finest musicians both familiar and respectful of each other’s talents and experience came together and began to make music as IYSK. Relationships in this relatively young band span back further than a decade, a fact that makes itself clearly evident in their rhythm section. With heavier influences stemming from Jesse and Jordan, mixed with more eclectic melodies and beats from Justin, Nick, and Mike, a structured musical unit forms that is more reminiscent of a sonic barrage than simply a band.

As each member of this band has had years of applied practice at the musician’s trade, technicality in musicianship is seen as a priority within the band. On the other hand, that same experience has tempered them all with the knowledge that such proficiency on an instrument should never take away or distract from the meaning and intent of the song itself.

In this band, song-writing above all remains paramount.

For that reason, each separate piece of music within IYSK is approached with absolute care and integrity, creating the finished product heard exploding from the speakers each performance night. They’ve learned to be fast, efficient, and precise with what they do, ensuring that their responsibilities as a band are always met first. This is, after all, a business culture with a tradition of excellence you are expected to live up to.

While new on the scene, IYSK is not be taken lightly or underestimated. These five guys have stumbled onto the simple truth of success in the modern music industry...
You just can’t stop music that really means something.
