Bio

Ryan Dunne (Vocals/Guitar) and Michael Wonderham (Guitar/Vocals) were both working at a movie theatre in London when they discovered a mutual respect for the same music. Both grew up listening to grunge music from the early 90s, Mike listening to Nirvana, and Ryan mostly listening to Pearl Jam. They soon started jamming with Ryan on drums and Mike on guitar. They formed the writing backbone of a short lived group called White Butterfly Effect (WBE). When musical differences lead to the breakup of WBE, Mike and Ryan continued to play, and added Tyler BuLock on guitar, bringing another side of musical influences from the early 2000s punk and emo scene. Tyler, Michael and Ryans newfound respect for emo-punk band At The Drive-in drove a new round of songwriting. They played a few gigs as The Regime and recorded a few demo tracks, but the mountains of Alberta beckoned Tyler away from the band.

Ryan and Mike kept The Regime alive and found a rhythm section, finally allowing Ryan to switch to his first love guitar. With a new rhythm section they finally accomplished the full sound they were aiming for and recorded another demo, only to have life get in the way again drawing the Rhythm section back to their home town of Windsor. The Regime was no more...

A change came in the form of First Born Sons bringing Tyler back on guitar, moving Ryan back to drums and adding Eric Stecki on bass. This eventually lead to a two-piece experiment featuring Ryan and Mike called Cysteine Bond which spawned a 3 song heavily prog-influenced E.P. called the OIART sessions. Eventually life moved Mike to a different city and the band went on an undetermined hiatus.

In the summer of 2010 Wonderham and Dunne started writing music together and were itching to get the band going again. They contacted BuLock, who having experimented with drumming in his youth, decided he would take a whack at the drums to be a part of this new endeavour. i.heart.capitalism was formed. They choose to wear their influences on their sleeve, embracing the arena rock of Pearl Jam, the punk sensibilities of Nirvana, the aggression of At The Drive-in, the catchiness of Blink 182, and the progressive experimentation of The Mars Volta.

What you end up with is three guys from London, ON who have been playing together on and off for the better part of 10 years that finally get together to form a collaborative 3 piece effort that combines all their influences rather than denying them.
