iKiBEAT is an original band that mixes elements of soul, funk, world, rock and reggae.
Primarily a rhythm based band, ikibeat adds vocal instrumentation and back beat grooves that engages the listener with a sense of anticipation. Lead vocalist and founder Oya Alatur blends Turkish roots with soul and reggae influences combined with producer Jonathan Reed 's spatial rhythm arrangements to create the ikibeat sound. Vocalist/Songwriter Seven Carter completes the vocal trio with his warm R&B tones and melodic butter. CAP, originally from Brooklyn, N.Y. brings his wicked abrasion of synth overtures and sample flavors while bassist Mike Wilson locks down his dense and deep bass lines rooted in gospel backbeat.
