Bio
At the age of 22, Ilana has already established her unique sound as a singer, songwriter, producer, and engineer.
Born on April 12, 1987 in Eastern Europe, Ilana always knew she was destined for a lyrical life. Growing up in Toronto, Canada, Ilana encompassed a strong passion for music. She began singing at age 10, received formal training in classical piano and voice at 12, started writing lyrics and melodies at 14, and by 16 took her hand at producing her own material.
Through collaborations and work at a diverse range of studios, Ilana acquired the necessary knowledge that allowed her to build her own studio. This is currently where she records and produces her music as well as the work of other local artists.
Ilana has an extensive range of musical influences; however she grew up mainly listening to West Coast Hip Hop. Her lyrical influences include the artists Eminem, Lil’ Kim, Mary J. Blige, and Akon. She is vocally inspired by Keyshia Cole and Christina Aguilera and respects producers Dr. Dre and Timbaland.
Ilana has built a strong repertoire of both hip hop and R&B songs that have immense commercial appeal utilizing extremely hooky styles. Some recent songs Ilana has recorded include, “Busy Tone”, “My Life”, and “Gotta Get That”.
