Bio

Born and raised in the Niagara Region of Canada, ITM (an acronym for iLL Table Manners) grew up listening to his older brothers CDs, which introduced him to artists like KRS-One, Busta Rhymes, Wu-Tang, etc. 90s hip hop is what inspired and fueled his ambition towards turntablism. It wasnt until he heard the Return of the DJ albums that he truly became passionate about it. It wasnt too long before he started watching DMC  & ITF DJ Battle videos online. Soon after, his older brother bought him for his birthday the movie Scratch. It was just like the foundation of the music explained in two hours. So many things made him passionate about the music but that movie definitely just made it all the more interesting. As his teenage years ended, he noticed at a local store a set of turntables, asked the price and bought it unfortunately without doing any research as to what kind of DJ equipment will be needed to able to produce this Turntable music. This lack of research would cost him time and money upgrading numerous times in his beginning years, and with being so young and not knowing any local turntablists or even where to find them, the internet became his only library for knowledge. The internet was also the first place this young DJ battled and took 2nd in the Slickbeats.net Online Skratch Competition.

After years of perfecting his scratching and techniques, and getting some experience on stage DJing and performing at local clubs and bars, he decided in 2008 to test himself in the local DJ battle, Battle of the Beats. The successful win of this battle really helped ITM gain a reputable status within his local scene not only as a producer and DJ for rap groups, but also as a battle DJ. He moved out to Calgary for just over a year, then came back to Toronto in 2010 and competed in DJ Dopey & DJ Grouchs Toronto Turntable Classic where he was defeated in the 2nd round by 2x Canadian DMC Champ DJ Shub. Losing only inspired him to work harder at his craft, but due to a sudden surgery needed on his wrist he was unable to afford his place in Toronto and was forced to move back home in the Niagara Region. Recovery took months, but as soon as he could move his right hand he was back on his tables practicing for the 2011 DMC Online Battle. Later that year he competed in the DMC Hamilton Regionals and the DMC Canadian Finals. DJ Battles like these as well as his live performances DJing shows and for acts such The Beatnuts, AZ, Shyheim aka The Rugged Child, Rahzel & DJ JS-1, Jeru The Damaja, Canibus, KO, Inspectah Deck, Killah Priest, Raekwon, Big Shug, RA the Rugged Man, The Liknuts, Nova Rockafeller, SDK, Bishop Brigante, Central Flow, Sese & The Union Gang, Eclipse, Spitters Union, RUN INK Records, Lucrative Write, and the Trilateral Entertainment Commission. This has made Ill Table Manners a prominent DJ name in the Niagara Region.  Also, the fact he has produced for Ghettosocks, D-sisive, KO, Kila Gens, TEC, Edwords, Moofeek, Krumble as well as many collaborations with other local artists and now his Vice DJ Battle Win at the IDA 2012 Canada and his 2nd place in the 2013 Montreal DMC make him a canadian turntablist that is making himself heard across Canada and hopefully the world.
