Illa Brown

Stepping into the spotlight to rock crowds with a smooth, party-induced flow that has been compared to the likes of Mos Def and Q-Tip, Canadian-born MC Illa Brown has been making noise north of the 49th parallel since 1993. First earning a rep as a free-styler on street corners in the cities of Victoria and Vancouver, Illa B would emerge as an entertainer that could hold his own on stage and in the studio. Singles such as Rock On Yah Block (2003) and Damn Right(2005), are notable tracks that saw spins on Canadian college and Top 40 radio. His debut album entitled -the illtraduction lp was released in 2007 on indie label Bogueart Entertainment. His single Red Apple, is a fan favorite that made Top 40 and satellite radio rotation and spawned the flirtatious music video. Live in concert he's rocked for acts such as The Liks, Raekwon, Fat Joe, Maestro, Reel 2 Real, Mos Def and many others over the years. He's been resident MC at some of Vancity's best hip hop nights, working alongside world class DJ acts. With skills to engage any audience Ill Bizzy has even hosted a variety of events including Bboy jams sponsored by Red Bull and Adidas, For the Luv of It showcase series and the Next Level Dance competitions. Since moving to Toronto, Illa was named to the "top 60 tip list " of note worthy acts at NXNE '09 music festival and is in the studio working on a second album featuring an array of Toronto's local beat-smiths.
