"CD Reviews - ill eagle "Here's To Trying""

"Blending punk and alternative with just a touch of metal, London's Ill Eagle releases their debut EP. Produced by Siegfried Meyer and recorded last year at Beach Road Studios, it's a confident debut, the band having been together since high school have honed their chops on many a London stage over the last few years. The CD features strong lead vocals by Mike Lapointe, and as much as this may Mike cringe a little bit, his vocals are reminiscent of a harder edged Michael Stipe, especially on the fine opener "Swashbuckler". Clocking in at less than 15 minutes the EP is short but sweet. A good introduction to this fine local band." -Dave Clarke Performance:B/Production: B - Scene Magazine

"CD Reviews - ill eagle "Bridge""

"Recorded at Beach Road Studios, Bridge is the 11-track, full-length follow up to Ill Eagle's debut EP, "Here's to Trying", released last year. For those of you who enjoyed the EP, there's more of the same here, including a few holdovers. But the full length has a harder edge with tracks like 'Uno Momento Por Favor' and 'Piss and Vinegar' the London-based band moves into the realm of metal and at times speed metal. Once again producer Siegfried Meier is at the throttle driving the band's sound to an even higher intensity." -Dave Clarke (July 1, 2010) Performance B/Production B+

Bio

Ill Eagle is like a fine croissant - it`s thick, not too deep, buttery, and not particularly good for you; but you want it anyways. Hailing from London, Ontario, Canada, Ill Eagle is a fast-paced four-piece that combines energetic riffs, primitive beats, and sombre vocals, building a sound that resonates with alternative rock fans. Combining a contemporary approach with what we all miss about the music from the past, Ill Eagle is a hybrid of 70`s and 90`s rock taking a stripped down approach and always finding new and unexpected influences.

Mnemonic Device sets the stage for their debut album Bridge, recorded in July 2009 with acclaimed indie producer Siegfried Meier. Songs like the bass-heavy What a Wangled Teb We Weave, and the more progressive My Feet Are Tired take fans through what makes Ill Eagle so great on the live stage. The catchy single The Swashbuckler has become a fan favourite. Building up the energy of the crowd, Ill Eagle puts forth a show that cannot and should not be missed.
