Bio

Illium hails from Los Angeles, CA, specializing in cinematic rock with an ambient twist. They draw their influences from artists such as Radiohead, Peter Gabriel, and A Perfect Circle, but the story only begins there. Illium also draws upon elements of jungle, classical and pop to re-interpret rock music for the 21st century. The subject matter of Illium’s material ranges from apocalypse (“Out Alive”) to fashion (“The Clever Goal”), with a thread of sardonic humor laced throughout.

The band is currently putting the finishing touches on their debut album “All Our Hope Is…”. Illium hopes to generate opportunities for a record deal and soundtrack placement with the release of this album. The band will be playing Los Angeles and the surrounding area in the months to come in support of “All Our Hope Is…”. In addition, Illium will continue to extend their online presence both on myspace and their own website, www.illiummusic.com , where the album will be available for purchase.

Guitarist Peter Avveduti formed Illium in 2004. As an Engineer, Peter Avveduti has toured with Robi Draco Rosa and worked in the studio with Howard Benson, Less Than Jake, and Leslie Van Treese among others. He later went on to serve as the head Engineer/Producer for Mad Heaven Studios, recording & producing various genres from Acoustic to Rock to Hip Hop.

Vocalist Kalen Chase recently joined Korn on their 2006 world tour, providing backing vocals and percussion. He also performed onstage as a guest with the Deftones and 10 Years during the 2006 Family Values tour.

Drummer Beak Wing, keyboardist Usama Minegishi and bassist Daniel Johnson join Kalen and Peter to round out the band’s line-up. Together they possess a large base of knowledge and talent, which they hope to draw from as they create a body of work that remains relevant for years to come.
