"They are very skilled, but are they trying too hard?"

A lively and fresh demo from the duo Illuminate. With a diverse sound and a lot of energy they fill in with a wealth of detail and a sound so full that it touches crowded. Eas vocals are up front surrounded by all sorts of machines, guitars and sounds, in a very energetic and popped cocktail. A password has to be enthusiasm. Is it a surprise meeting between Garbage and Fallulah? Supplemented with an Arabic flair in sustaining melodies to contrast with the more square beats and bass line. The songs are solidly written, and both verses and choruses are delivered sharp and swinging. I do not think that hook line sits in the closet, but it will still do well in radio. It is produced very professionally by Bo Karlsson from JoyceHotel, which is also the second half of the duo. And although the sounds are somewhat traditional, it is still fresh and new. Overall it's impressive that they can keep spirits up, but it is also at the expense of the ears have nothing to settle in on before they take off again. - Gaffa (the leading Danish music magazine)

Bio

Copenhagen based electro pop duo Illuminate have created their own style of catchy, cool and uplifting electro pop with an edge. The vocals are carried out with attitude and passion accompanied by delicate backing vocal arrangements, beats, synths and guitars.
Illuminate is producer, guitarist and keyboard player Bo Karlsson from the former Joycehotel and Danish fairytale queen Ea Philippa who normally plays fairytale pop with her 9 woman orchestra.
Illuminate has lead to a change of genre and a new way of expression for both of them.
The leading Danish music magazine Gaffa gave a 4 stars review for the band's first demo and wrote, "a surprise meeting between Garbage and Fallulah. The songs are solidly written, and both verses and choruses are delivered sharp and swinging. "
The duo is also a couple in private and after making music separately for 10 years they finally decided to do something together. With that decision a whole new world of joy and pleasure in the music making process opened up to them and their strong connection reflects in the music where their different skills compliment one another perfectly.
Artists such as Swedish Lykke Li, Danish Oh Land and Fallulah and British Florence and the Machine among others have influenced them, but they still manage to stay true to their own unique style,
