"Airy-electronic waves", "an infectious chill vibe" and "soothing vocals". Toronto indie-electronic band, Illyin Pipes is a dreamy blend of Little Dragon, Animal Collective, Aphex Twin and Sigur Ros. Lead singer Jill Harris formed Illyin Pipes in early 2013 with friends Thom Varey, Chris Pruden and Mark Rynkun. After spending years writing folk songs, Jill Harris picked up a synth and never looked back. Their first single Grasshopper was released in December 2013 and garnered attention in Canada and the UK, receiving over 5000 plays on Soundcloud in a matter of weeks. It was quickly followed by Cold Season: an ambient, downtempo track that was immediately noticed by music blogs and put into rotation by online radio sites. The band will be releasing their third single, Still, in February 2014.
