Forming in June of 2011, Imaginary Friend are a group of close friends from Liverpool who formed out of nothing more than a passion for all things Sarah Records. However, it was only upon hearing Beat Happening that we decided it may be possible to realise our ambition with limited/no musical ability and even further limited funds. Thus, the songs you hear on our websites are the result of four months of locking ourselves in-doors throughout the summer with nothing more than our influences and a hand-me down drum kit that didn't have (and still doesn't have) any cymbals. A lo-fi, C86 jangle, interspersed with Factory Records-esque synth lines has been the result of our endeavours.
