Still working on that hot first release.

With a unique vocal style all his own, Christon Mason p/k/a “Mason” is a true musician and innovator known for crossing the boundaries of R&B, Pop and Rap. Mason is gifted in song, bass, guitar, keys, drums and music production.

Mason began playing instruments at age 8, first with the drums, then with the bass and guitar at age 11, and keys at 13. As he honed his skills with each instrument, the bass would become Mason’s instrument of choice. His mother and uncle were all musicians and vocalists, which served to spark Mason’s passion for music and influence him to become an artist and musician. Mason’s musical interests were also cultivated by jazz, soul, R&B, funk and gospel. Great bands that set musical precedence, such as Earth, Wind and Fire, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Sly & the Family Stone and Average White Band fueled Mason’s passion for live music.

A product of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mason played before his first audience at the age of 13 with the youth choir at Higher Dimensions Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mason then went on to play on a jazz Christmas tour with pianist Fred Smith in 2002. In 2003, at 15, Mason’s skill for playing bass was so innovative that different local bands began using him during their nightclub performances. Today, Mason is lead vocalist and bass player for SuperFriends, an innovative band consisting of Mason (Bass), Brandon “Dot” Maddex (Drums) and Mason’s laptop. When Mason is not performing he is also an active songwriter and music producer.

Mason has played bass for notables such as Jagged Edge (session work), Marcus Miller, Tom Braxton, Mike Phillips, Dave Koz at an Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame concert (Wayman Tisdale Memorial Service) and opened for Monica and Dondria at Langston University.

Mason is the musician’s musician and the crowd favorite – music in High Definition.
