"2 free playlist: immigre this dj duo has your fall mix on lock."

Need new music? Allow us to introduce you to Immigre, the Los Angeles DJ duo and our new favorite discovery. They're about to be yours, too-- especially once you listen to the pair's fall playlist, which we have for free (!!) right here.

Just like us, the girls love *NSYNC, Charli XCX, Angel Haze, and Aaliyah equally (how are you supposed to choose just one?!). But even better, they've included all of these artists and more on their Autumn 2013 mix.

Clocking at 31 songs total, this playlist covers pretty much all the musical bases, and arrives just in time for holiday travel madness. So download it below, and make your trip back home for vacation about a million times more bearable. Airport dance party, let's do this! - NYLON

Immigre -- Madeline: Immigre Autumn 2013 Mix

Why: The latest and greatest mix from DJ duo Immigre (JSMN & Val Fleury) is here! As their name implies, both of these ladies were born abroad and later immigrated to the US. Fleury hails from West Africa and grew up on the East Coast, while JSMN was raised in the Middle East, and now lives on the West Coast. As "Madeline" proves, the combo of influences definitely works. -- Sarah Chavey - See more at: http://filtermagazine.com/index.php/news/entry/obsessive_compulsions_filters_weekly_picks_featuring_immigre_more#sthash.pVH8TRML.dpuf - FILTER Magazine

"Immigré’s ‘Madeline’ autumn mix is a nostalgic recap of the season’s favorites"

What was the process or inspiration behind the making ‘Madeline?’
This is an essential mix of songs we’ve been obsessed with in recent months, new loves as well as some older favorites. We’re very distinct with what we play — mostly an international array of female-driven tracks, and each track has got to get us inspired, excited, and in the groove. We wanted to make sure the mix was dynamic by starting off mellow and slowly changing levels before grooving back down toward the end. It’s a journey through our taste!

I try to avoid asking the same tired question about where an artist’s name comes from, but you two seem to have an interesting story. Why Immigré?
We’re both immigrants. Jasmine was born in Iran, and Val Fleury was born in Liberia (You can even see our immigrant shot scars in some of our photos). On top of that, we both have an irresistible affinity for the French language–and Immigré means “immigrant” in French. We also met just weeks into Val’s move to LA from Paris, she lived in France for a few years.

How do you feel you represent the season within the mix?
We’re not really aiming to represent seasonal themes with our mixes — you can listen to any of them year-round. They do represent a nostalgic sense of the season for us personally, since they’re a compilation of our favorite songs during the season that we make each one. In Autumn 2013 specifically, we were introduced to Kelela, Drake’s “Nothing Was The Same” album (which we layered clips of over portions of this mix), Mø, and Katy Perry’s “Walking On Air” (such a smash). It’s cool to have them nutshelled in a seasonal mix which we can listen to in the future and immediately recall these days.

Are these seasonal mixtapes going to be a trend?
Absolutely. We plan on releasing these essential mixes seasonally, along with additional mixes and mini-mixes for special events. The more the merrier.

"MUSIC CRUSH // IMMIGRE"

MUSIC MUSE: IMMIGRE

Music, like fashion, varies in style. Fortunately, Jasmine and Sanni Val Fleury of fashion forward DJ duo Immigré have stellar taste in both. Since teaming up in 2012, Immigré has quickly garnered a reputation as dynamic DJs, continually finding exciting ways to mix music and get the crowd’s blood pumping. With growing buzz around their newly debuted remix of Saint Motel’s “My Type,” JOLYN caught up with the pair on their type of style, music & more.
home-jasmine-blogWHAT ARE YOU WEARING?

We chose our two favorite tops from the new JOLYN line: the Misfit in Black and the Vent in the Mallyce Collab Print in Slash. As we are different in shape and height, we find pieces that compliment our body types, with a hint of edge. Style wise, some of our faves are bold patterns, cut-outs, costume jewelry, and sequins (we can never have enough sequins). We always find ourselves gravitating toward the colors black and gold. Our looks are always cohesive but never too twins-y.
home-immigre-dj-jolyn-sanniWHAT’S YOUR TYPE OF MUSIC?

As DJs, our music is mostly female driven and international. We normally spin open format to drive anyone and everyone to the dance floor. We love exploring ways to mix and connect our favorites, no matter their geography, their genre, whether they’re new or old, etc! A good song is a good song. That is part of what’s great about being Millennials: openness, creativity, and empowerment. Dress how you want, listen to and play want you want. Whatever YOUR TYPE might be.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Our Autumn Mix also premieres this month, and a Winter Mix will be out for the year’s end. We are looking forward to debuting more remixes in 2014, as well as spinning both in the US and abroad. Keep up with us on news and music at our site: www.immigredjs.com

"LISTEN UP: IMMIGRÉ"

It’s Thursday. A weekday which, thanks to the skyrocketing popularity of fun, freedom and good times, has become almost entirely absorbed into the beloved chronological establishment known as the weekend. In preparation for the ensuing revelry–which starts, let’s say, around 5pm–one of our favorite up-and-coming DJ duos, Immigré, has thrown up their top tracks of the moment onto a neat sixty-minute Spotify playlist. Power hour, anyone? In order to beef up this blog post, the lovely Sanni Val Fleury & JSMN agreed to answer some of our questions. Find out whether or not the ladies like to sit in the shower below....

"LISTEN UP: 12 ARTISTS TO KEEP ON YOUR RADAR FOR 2014"

IMMIGRÉ: “Madeline Remix”
We have a confession. We like to believe it was the LAC crew that “discovered” DJ duo Immigré so we can cling to the backbone of their success when they blow up. Liberian/Iranian/American/European/Creatures-of-the-World, Jasmine & Val Fleury prove the amazing output of collaboration when cultures and music styling’s blend (If only the rest of the world would take their lead). The gals have been curating some fresh mix tapes since 2012, and will be making their rounds on the festival circuit this coming spring. Do yourself a favor and watch them spin live and with love. - LA CANVAS magazine

Bio

Immigré is a Los Angeles based DJ duo with an innate love for music, fashion, and international culture. The two were born abroad and immigrated to the USA in the 1990's. Val Fleury hails from West Africa and grew up on the East Coast, while Jasmine was born and raised in the Middle East and has spent the latter half of her life on the West Coast.

Since teaming up in late 2012, Immigré has quickly garnered a reputation for pumping up crowds and finding exciting ways to mix indie pop, house, and hip hop. Throughout 2013, the pair earned raves on the debuts of their first mixes and remixes from NYLON, FILTER, and Death & Taxes among others. As one of LA CANVAS Magazine’s "12 Artists to Watch for 2014," Immigré has spent this year performing at Noise Pop festival in San Francisco, top showcases at SXSW, as well as a sold out show with GTA and Bixel Boys at the Glasshouse in Pomona. Recently the duo released an official remix for Jeffrey Tonnesen & Cobra Starship, which earned them a nod from Noisey.

Immigré has performed at clubs, bars, festivals, and private events – notably for TOMS Shoes, Wasteland Clothing, Dangerbird Records, The Well, BlahBlahBlahScience, and more. Recent shows include spinning events for Amazon Music, Dickies, Capitol Music Group, and School Night hosted by KCRW. The ladies are currently resident DJs for LA CANVAS Magazine, and they regularly spin at LA hotspots like Honeycut, The Lash, Short Stop, Dirty Laundry, The Virgil, and The Roosevelt Hotel.
