"Belfast Live Review"

Castlederg's Immunise have changed quite a bit over the last year. Exuding much more confidence now than before, the foursome give out some finely crafted pop songs in the vein of Blondie and the Runaways. Singer Anna Gillespie, at any rate, seems like the spiritual daughter of Patti Smith and Debbie Harry.

While Immunise have been under the radar for a while, they are definitely developing into an impressive live act, with plenty of presence.

Say No has a great hook and Nothing To Say is a sugary-sweet song that'd give The Pretenders a run for their money.

But Immunise's talents lie in their louder songs. They seem to sound better with their amps turned up to 11. Hey! is without a doubt the best tune of the night. It has a stomping glam-rock attitude and hints to where their future lies.

"Derry Band Expo '04 Review"

"Immunise added some style to the event. They are quirky; having brushed up against Blondie and 80’s pop, their tight and punchy riffs and well constructed pop songs could appeal to people right across the board."
- Alternative Ulster

Bio

IMMUNISE are a four piece rock band from the small town of Castlederg, 30 miles south of Derry in Northern Ireland. The band are composed of the brother / sister writing team of Anna Gillespie (vocals, guitar) and John Gillespie (guitar) plus two friends Darrell Nelson (drums) and Chris Darragh (bass).
Influences date back to the late 70's New York scene from bands like Blondie, Television and Patti Smith, as well as popular female fronted acts such as The Pretenders.
Since their first gig in 2002 the band have played all over Ireland and have supported famous acts such as The Undertones, The Wannadies and Wonderstuff in Dublin's top venues. Immunise tracks have been played heavily on local radio and the band were invited to play live on daytime BBC Radio Foyle recently.
