Feeling a bit camera shy

I'm Not Frank was formed in 1995 by its core members: Mike Rogerson (lead guitar), Dylan Baker (lead vocals), and Dustin Young (background vocals, guitar) in Ladysmith, BC. Since moving to Vancouver in 1997, I.N.F. has opened for notable local bands such as the Odds and Damn the Diva at venues such as The Roxy, The Vogue and The Railway Club.

I'm Not Frank's debut album is finally set to be released this year. The ten-song CD will feature all of the best songs written and recorded by INF in the last 10 years. Their sound ranges from all-out-wall-of-guitars power rock to blues-rock to country and reggae songs. I'm Not Franks music and lyrics are penned by frontman, Dylan Baker, who's dayjob is Video Editor at Citytv. Using his life experiences and literary influences he addresses world issues that he thinks should be brought to our attention (President, Course of a Day), and in the next song changes it up with songs about unrequited love (Not Cool Enough). Behind INF's dynamic sound are two of Vancouver's most sought after guitar players: Mike Rogerson and Dustin Young. Mike's original guitar sensibilities shine through his influences from Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix and Pearl Jam's Mike McCready. Beatles fan Dustin Young's McCartney-esque vocals rise over his versatile guitar playing, influenced by such guitarists as Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Rounding out the sound in the rhythm section are Hamish Thomson on drums and John Fredricksen on Bass Guitar. Both of whom have played together in some of Vancouvers most celebrated bands such as Big Tall Garden and the award-winning organic-electronic outfit, The Hermit.

Together this mix of talent and influences produces the vibrant sound that I'm Not Frank has become known for. Their live shows feature great originals and obscure but surprisingly familiar covers.
