IMPOSSIBLE OBJECTS is a term used to describe visual images which seem to incorporate more than one perspective. Like an Escher drawing, these images can be looked at from a number of different angles. The music of Impossible Objects is similar. There`s the lyric poetry which is often very visual and symbolic. You can dance to it. It`s very polyrhythmic, with multiple rhythmic feels overlayed on top of each other. Then there`s the melodic element, refined and poignant. It has drama, with deep moods being conjured. And then the music stimulates the imagination, taking the mind`s eye on a visual journey.
Influences include David Byrne, Peter Gabriel, Oingo Boingo, Bjork, Mike Stern and David Bowie.
IO is located in Denver Co. has been gigging and recording for about 5 years. The band has played at most of the local original clubs including the Paramount Café, Eck`s, The Soiled Dove and Herman`s Hideaway.
