Improv Boys

The four man show that has come to be known as The Improv Boys started in small town Alberta where four friends having graduated High School the year prior decided to put on an improv show for their town. They put on the show at the local movie theatre which was originally built for live performances. This was to be the site of their very first show; which would boast an audience of over ten people. Egos bruised yet undeterred the four quickly revamped the entire show. The next show had nearly thirty people attend, followed by sixty, then one hundred, and on the final show in August the theatre seemed full with over two hundred people from the town in attendance (including the local newspaper). It was then that the group decided to move to the city and chose Edmonton for it had the most comedy clubs and diverse art scene.

Now over six years later the group is still going strong, their comedy show has evolved into a hybrid of theatre sport style improv and professional stand-up comedy. Each member had developed their own unique style of individual comedy which is woven into their shows making each one different and new. The Improv Boys provide a comedy variety act which includes stand-up, musical comedy, skits, and of course improv. Its four comedians, one show, and a thousand laughs.

After 6 years of hard work doing shows in bars and clubs across the province the still young performers of The Improv Boys are now seasoned and hungry for more. So now the 4 friends from High River; Bill Battrum, Noor Kidwai, Eric Steel, and Jeff Stephenson set their sights on their next big endeavour. Though the beginning is rocky, no one can predict where this hilarious super group will end!
