In Canto

Erica Gelhaus and Craig Raymaley were both born in western Ohio cornfields. Okay, maybe not in the middle of cornfields, but definitely a long way from the world’s operatic stages. They were both inspired by passionate and stirring performances of the great works of composer Giacomo Puccini. Erica fell in love with the overwhelming romanticism of passionate lovers playing out their doomed affair on the stage; Craig thought singing would be a great way to "pick up chicks.”

Singing eventually took both of them to places far beyond the wide-open cornfields of their youth. They each followed their passion, studied opera in Italy and began singing for countless fans. Erica even represented her state when she sang in Las Vegas as Miss Ohio at the Miss America Pageant.

After experiencing great success in their solo careers, Erica and Craig decided to join forces and share their love of music and performing. Their voices “clicked” right away and they created In Canto; the music, the jokes and the laughs began.

Whether singing one of Puccini’s famous duets, swingin’ a la Louis Prima and Keely Smith or conjuring a haunting ballad, In Canto entertains crowds from intimate cabarets to the largest festivals. From Verdi to Vaudeville to Vegas! In Canto has quickly become one of the most entertaining and original musical-comedy-opera-swing acts to ever come out of a cornfield.
