Innovation, experimentation, and subjugation: three words that would spring to mind when describing the raw power of Incarceri 9. Relentless stamina, prowess, and unbridled energy and emotion shape the musical form into something inviting, yet frightening the listener can’t help but be drawn in, like the allure of a haunted house. Taking elements from such a diverse range as Rush and Type O Negative, Alice In Chains to Dream Theater, the masters in I9 craft out of chaos a single entity--enraged, enigmatic--that could completely change rock and metal. The quartet consists of: founder and front man Frank Murphy, channeling pure poison through guitars and vocals; Jordan Owen, providing keyboards, guitars, and philosophy; Woodruff Anderson, beastial and bass-voiced; and Jamie Stith, assault and battery. The band formed in 2007 under Frank’s tutelage, and his first and only rule: anything goes. No song idea would be turned down as long as it had guts, a fair amount of technical skill, and the potential to enslave the minds of all who heard it. This versatility is what makes Incarceri9 the ‘turn-to’ band to place before or after any touring act.
