BandJazzR&B

A smoking urban-jazz trio from Paris/France, built on a 20 years friendship between 3 multi-experienced Famous stars' sidemen...

Biography

Urban jazz at it’s very best, brought to you by IT (Independent Trio), three virtuosos Thomas Gromaire (guitar), Stéphane Le Navelan (keys) and Franck Mantegari (drums) whose diverse studio and stage experience vary from accompanying artists such as Phil Collins, Alpha Blondy, Mariah Carey, Mory Kante, Delegation, Gary’’ Mudbone’’ Cooper, Mark Turner, Bill Stewart, Mos Def, Check Tidiane Seck, Seamus Blake etc…Their intense, imaginative yet accessible music has for canvas white hot grooves and audacious arrangements offering a treat to every music lover’s ear.
When listening to these tasty compositions and that savoury production, it is hard to believe the whole album was recorded in only three days, live, without use of any samples nor sequences! and for the bass? the guitarist and keyboardist amazingly took turns on the lines while still riding their own instrument!
Accomplice since childhood, one can feel the chemistry cooking up a major new act, delivering an uncommon mouth-watering dish of jazz, hip hop, funk and many other spices picked up along these musicians’ incredible paths. The diversity of each member’s touch feeds this first profoundly original opus, taking us to new territories of improvised music.
An absolute must see on stage. Come and dig IT!
