"Locals Who Are Set To Own 2014"

Sydney imprint Sweat It Out! is on a serious hot streak at the moment, the Ajax-founded label flying high on the recent successes of RUFUS, What So Not and Motez among others. So when you see that slick pair of dancing shoes on the label’s insignia you know you’re in safe hands, as is the case with the label’s next big heavy-hitters Indian Summer.

The most recent release we heard from the duo of Gabe Gleeson and Chevy Long came in Foreign Formula/Grand Rapids, a pair of tunes that neatly encapsulate Indian Summer’s gifts behind the desk and their potential for the year ahead, the former cruising along with robotic snaps and tweaked vocal loops while its opposite number gets fully bouncy with a laser pulse at its heart - In The Mix

"Australian Talent: Ones To Watch"

This Melbourne-based duo consisting of high school mates Chevy Long and Gabe Gleeson formed in 2011 after backpacking around Asia and Europe and played their first unofficial gig at one of Thailand’s Full Moon parties to one punter. “We had a really good time, we were like 19 and just there for a bit of fun,” Long says of the experience. The lads then joined the late Ajax’s label Sweat It Out! and it’s been non-stop since. They’ve released two EPs on the label – 'No Use' and more recently 'Foreign Formula'.

Their track 'No Use' is on Greek label Last Gas Station’s 2013 'Late Summer' compilation alongside the likes of Aeroplane, Lindstrøm and more, and their remix of The Weeknd’s 'Kiss Land' has hit a home run. The lads are currently working on a new EP with vocalist Ben Woolner of Canberra trio Safia. “He has the voice of an angel - it’s like the first time I heard The Beatles,” Long says of Woolner. Turning their focus to collaborations with more vocalists, Gleeson is pumped about what’s next. “We’re hoping to get overseas next year, hopefully to the States and Europe. I’m excited because we’ve never played internationally so that’s really exciting.” - Mixmag

"Australian Producers We're Loving"

The Melbourne duo of Gabe Gleeson and Chevy Long make up the cool beats of Indian Summer. Signed by our friends over at Sweat It Out! (who also have Motez and RUFUS on their books), these lads are definitely in good company! Their most recent release, ‘Aged Care’ encapsulates an eclectic mix of tribal claps and tweaked vocal loops. Check out their blog at www.waxwaves.com.au for some pretty amazing remixes posted by the boys. - MTV
