"Stargaze EP Review"

"New York, London, Paris, Munich Everybody talk about Pop Musik. And they do. In all its guises and shapes and sizes. Indigo Joe started with the blues and followed the well-trodden path to rock but along the way they developed a charm and a subtelty that is best displayed on "Eyewitness" from their recently released 'Stargaze' EP." - Shifty Disco

"Solo Gig"

"James has always brought silence to busy bars, armed only with acoustic guitar and vocal cords. Now I've heard the whole band on their seamlessly produced debut EP." - Earmusic

Bio

Having met playing on the Blues scene, James, Carl, Evan and Jonny were four young musicians looking to play music with a more mainstream feel and it was immediately obvious that there was a creative chemistry between them. With a songbook that draws on influences from Blues to U2 via Radiohead, the band booked studio time and started to record. Pleased with the result it was decided this ‘demo’ should become a 5-track EP with a view to being commercially released. The self-produced recording became known as the 'Stargaze EP'.

From the hauntingly melodic opener ‘Novacaine Sweetheart’ to the sing-a-long ‘Eyewitness’ you are taken from the light to the dark-side that is Stargaze.

The wealth of experience that the individual band members have garnered as working musicians was shown-off to maximum effect at a recent string of successful live shows which took place at a number of London's leading Indie Rock venues: Barfly, Metro, The Water Rats, Bull & Gate etc. The band's following continues to grow: “It seems that each person hears a bit of their own favourite band in our music”, explains James, the band’s main songwriter and frontman, “the list of bands people mention just continues to grow, even though we've never heard of some of them. It's strange.”

Indigo Joe continue to write and play live and, like all bands in the rich music scene of today, they are looking for the opportunity to develop their music and grow as a band. They hope they are at the beginning of a very long road they have only just started to travel down.

The band's song 'Novacaine Sweetheart' is currently a a finalist in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition. The judges include artists such as Tom Waits, Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, Robert Smith of The Cure and Nelly Furtado.
