"ATLANTA’S A3C FESTIVAL CHAMPIONS FEMME TALENT IN HIP-HOP WITH “THE FUTURE IS FEMALE” SHOWCASE"

Since its inception in 2005, A3C has gotten it right--it’s a music festival curated by music lovers, with the intent of exposing new talent to Atlanta and beyond. And in keeping with that tradition, A3C’s “The Future is Female” showcase is bringing some of the budding femme talents of our time front and center to show that the future is brightest for female artists. Andrea Dwyer, the curator of the showcase, said of her background and the opportunity to work in this capacity, “I’m a black, immigrant, queer woman who grew up in poverty in Jamaica. Not many people from my background and circumstance get opportunities like this. I’m grateful. It’s also very important that I get to create space for up and coming artists. A3C and myself are creating opportunity and that’s crucial.”” In her first showcase ever, Andrea has put together a dynamic lineup comprised of the nation’s top emerging talents. Rene Brown, Vnusamr, Tate, Yani Mo, Indira Imani, and Ms. Proper bring so much to the table in their own unique way. When asked why this showcase is important to her, she responded saying, “Because women really are the future. As it relates to music, there are so many talented female artists out right now grinding and putting in the work. I really do believe The Future Is Female.” And with that, we hope all the A3C goers have a great time jamming to Andrea’s showcase, it’s one you don’t want to miss! - AFROPUNK

Love The Life You Live ft. Indira Imani & Courtesy "Bring You Home" Music Video

About Video: "Bring You Home" is LOVE the LIFE you LIVE's (LLL) newest single, and is now available on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Google Play, Amazon Music, and all other music streaming platforms.

LLL's Founder and Songwriter Janay M. James explains, "Music is magic. Music is medicine. And Bring You Home celebrates all of that. When I wrote it I just thought about all of the mental, physical, and spiritual sensations that everyone goes through at pinnacle stress moments in our lives."

With a classic track produced by Berklee College of Music alumnus Peter Eddins, accompanied by the soulful vocals of singer/ songwriter Indira Imani, and good vibes of hip-hop by rapper Courtesy, "Bring You Home" is the emerging of musical styles with genuine purpose.

Janay expresses, "I wrote Bring You Home to remind people that through any and everything that goes on in your life there's always something that can bring you back home to your place of positive energy and zen. That something for me has always been music".

"Know Your Scene"

Indira Imani is an R&B/Soul artist from Washington DC that is now living in New York, NY and putting out some fun music. The music on this EP switches (no pun intended) from a classical style of R&B to a more upbeat groove as portrayed in the track entitled “Bad”. The only problem with this EP is that it’s shorter than I would have liked it to be, but that quality does make it an easy listen for those just looking to hear a couple of great new songs by one artist. Other than this EP, she doesn’t have much music online, although after the response she’s been getting from the release of Switch, hopefully that will change. - Marquise
