Bio

Singer/songwriter/producer Indi grew up in the Washington, D.C. area, listening to music rooted in R&B, soul, jazz, blues, and classical. Music has always been a part of her life. A third generation singer, she grew up listening to stories about her paternal grandmother’s “big-band era” jazz singing experiences, attending her father’s performances and also watching her aunt, whom is an world-renowned opera singer and music educator.

Although Indi had been a part of several choirs growing up, she did not begin writing songs until her second year of college and discovered that she had a natural ability to turn words into beautiful melodies. She’s had many experiences working behind the scenes in entertainment and is now ready to fully take on her God given purpose, to delight people’s hearts with her silky sweet voice.

Indi’s first album contribution was on spoken word artist, RashadThaPoet’s Summer 2006 release, Witness To The Truth, Vol. 3, The Trilogy, singing the hook on “We Laugh We Cry”. In 2007, Indi helped produce and performed on two songs on the soundtrack of the independent film “Love Bones” by filmmaker, Deri Tyton, (“It Hurts When I Breathe”, and “UnSafe”).

In 2010, Indi joined forces with Deri Tyton again to produce her first soulful contemporary jazz album, Society’s View, which is available on Cdbaby.com, Digstation.com, I-Tunes, as well as through her own entertainment company Famous on Purpose Productions.

Indi currently resides in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. For more information please send an email to indityton@gmail.com or call (773) 480-3015, cell.
