Bio
Deemed "richly textured" by the LA Times and "frighteningly psychedelic" by the Phnom Penh post, Los Angeles trio Indradevi injects a dose of Southeast Asia into their untamed breed of electronic music. Drum & bass, ambient house and industrial rock mingle with gongs, bells and lyrics sung in both English and Khmer. Cambodian-born vocalist Rumany discovered her passion for singing as a child in a Thai refugee camp shortly before immigrating to the United States in the 1980's. Founders Barong and Rangda juggle duties on synthesizers, guitars and percussion. Following their debut album A Thousand Tomorrows, and a successful club tour of Southeast Asia, Indradevi co-headlined the Cambodian Music Festival alongside Dengue Fever at Hollywood's 1,200 seat Ford Amphitheatre.
June 2014 saw the release of their new EP Wake From the Poison Dream. Dripping with atmosphere, the release features original material and covers of The Shocking Blue's 1968 garage rock classic "Send Me a Postcard" and Max Romeo's 1976 reggae anthem "Chase the Devil".
