Bio

Raze (pronounced Raise), is a Hip Hop MC, hailing from New York City. Born in Washington Heights, where he still lives. Raze grew up listening to hip hop music and favored the role of MC. He got his start, rapping with his friends in high school. His early influence was the Wu Tang Clan, with Method Man being his favorite rapper. Raze also credits Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Big Pun, The Lox, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Eminem as his strongest influences.
But, along with being an MC, Raze is an engineer who produces beats. This double talent has taken him all over New York City to numerous underground venues, where he performed both as a solo artist and as part of a group.
In the beginning, Raze would perform songs with no beats or music track. But regardless of the venue, be it a stage or a party, Raze would take the mic and rap to whatever beat was playing. In his development as an artist/entertainer Raze has become a very versatile MC, flowing from track to track no matter it being a party song to a street banger or it be a song dealing with current events or a song talking directly to the ladies, Raze has the lyrics to deliver to any crowd.
After high school he began creating tracks. This is where Raze learned the process of music production and the role of an engineer. It was the start of him taking his art to a higher level. He purchased his own equipment and graduated from the Conservatory Of Music At SUNY Purchase with a concentration in Music Production. In that same year, he opened up his own recording studio and began producing songs and tracks for himself and other aspiring artists.
He’s appeared at various NYC open mics and venues such as Club T-NY, Club R&R and Club Vesta. He has headlined numerous parties and social events and has performed at the world famous Nuyourican Poets Café.
He will be releasing his first mixtape called “RAZE IT UP” while simultaneously producing his debut solo album. Visit him on Face book at RazeTheBar and follow him on Twitter @ikick_pigeons for the latest info and details of upcoming appearances..
